On camera. Experience the technical and creative demands of television auditions.
TV audition techniques. Expand your range and presence through improv and advanced skills to master any audition.
Special skills + special FX. Discover the demands of sitcom acting, and the special skills necessary for motion capture, green screen, and heightened dramas.
We develop your Voice Acting skills with on-the-mic training. Exploring Animation, ADR Voice Coaching sessions will further encourage ease and range in your voice to prepare you for the demands of feature film auditions.
Final project shoot. Shoot your film project and promo reel in studio to showcase your talents, and learn how to find an agent and drive your own career.
Experienced acting professionals teach you. Your instructors regularly appear on stage and screen, so you come face to face with this creativity and practical knowledge. They have real-world understanding about the business, art, and craft of acting.
Our faculty can act as a guide to deepen your in- class studies by observing the professional work around you. You learn how to interpret stories creatively and how to use your body and voice to communicate with other actors and with an audience. You get to work in a truly collaborative setting with a conservatory-based focus on your craft. You are part of a deep and wide industry training-based campus that can act as a networking tool for future endeavors. The program’s unique bi-lingual curriculum is short but truly intensive. In 12 months, you will have the opportunity to master the essence and main point of acting and participate in a number of on-set films.
Acting collaborates with the other departments at SHVFS, integrating our curriculums to give the most comprehensive and inclusive experience possible.
Our Acting students work with the Makeup and Special Effects For Film and TV Department in three terms, giving them firsthand knowledge and experience with makeup artists. It is important that actors know how to behave as professionals with makeup professionals on and off the set. Working with makeup effects in character is a demanding experience. Learn in the safety of the classroom.
Students will work with the Sound Design for Visual Media Department in professionally equipped studios learning how to record their voices in multiple scenarios, best preparing them for the professional demands of a voice artist in the local market.
Students work extensively with our Film Production Department “on-set” in at least three terms of study. Students will be working on short films with professional and student directors, producers and film crews, giving them the practical on-set work experience rarely available in a school setting. A student may create life-long relationships with up and coming directors writers and producers that can lead to future employment.
Students work with our 3D Animation and Visual Effects Department team, learning how to function on a nearly bare set where much of the work is left to their imaginations in the Acting for Animation class.
Students collaborate with the Writing for Film and TV Department a number of times in the year as original scripts are sometimes written with acting students in mind. The writers create scripts that are longer and more in depth as the terms progress. These scripts may be filmed and produced for demo reels for different departments to distribute to their students and for viewing at Graduation.
Students study all year with professional Chinese Industry professionals to learn Chinese Industry standards for acting and voice acting. Our partners are SMG pictures, ARKSTAR and LISTEN STUDIOS, Di Fei Fei.

影视化妆设计系主任
2003年，考特尼•弗雷在MAC化妆品公司从事零售工作时，她的化妆事业由此起航。三年后，带着浓厚的求学欲，考特尼决定拓展自己的知识面，因而在温哥华电影学院参加了密集型高强度的化妆课程。
2006年毕业后，考特尼便为电影、电视、时尚、出版社等各式媒体提供化妆服务。她的能力及对工作的热忱使得考特尼一年到头都十分忙碌。她期待每一个全新的项目，并且珍惜每一次从事她所热爱事业的机会。
考特尼最近的一些作品包括：协助电影《雷蒙•斯尼奇的不幸历险》、电视剧《地球百子》、《路西法》以及电影《速游记》的化妆工作，她还担任过电影《任务》和《车库销售之谜》的首席设计师。
